FILMING DONE!

We had to film in the barn near Wicken Green as when we arrived at the abandoned building at Wicken Green, we were told that we would need insurance to go inside which would cost hundreds of pounds per person so we decided not to use that location. Filming in the barn went well, we also got some footage in a nearby corn field...

Here are a few photos from the shoot...

How will media be delt with by law in the future?

I believe that in the future, the law will try to reduce the number of hours people are exposed to various types of media. As many people have concerns about young people being influenced by violent media, I believe that this will be top priority to be combatted. The average time spent using media by teenagers today is 30-40 hours a week... I believe that in the future this will be reduced and/or monitored by the law in order to prevent impressionable people from being influenced by the media and to stop young people accessing types of media that they should not be.

How can Human Traffic be a metaphor for the effects model?

The effects model, also known as the hypodermic model, sees the audience as duped and doped. Media is 'injected' into the audience, much like drugs are injected by addicts... This theory suggests that we simply lay back and accept the media as it is presented to us, much like when someone takes drugs. Drug taking is a strong and prominent theme in Human Traffic as many of the main characters talk about the drugs they take. Therefore, the film Human Traffic can itself be a metaphor for the Hypodermic Model as they both relate to drug taking.
